Groupe ADP has launched an initiative to involve the airport community in addressing the challenges associated with hosting the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Four workshops were held with partners on the implementation of the service quality charter at the Paris airports, of which one focused on hospitality and fluidity at security checkpoints, led by Nathalie Chailly, Head of the Passenger Process, Xavier Degrange, Head of Public Safety and Security at Paris-Orly and Arthur Waghemacker, Deputy Head of Public Safety and Security at Paris-Charles de Gaulle. A smooth screening process, technology, personalised welcome for people with disabilities, recruitment and retention of security staff... Numerous themes were discussed on these key issues to ensure the success of Paris 2024.

TAV Airports recorded strong financial results in 2023. The Turkish airport operator, in which Groupe ADP holds a 46.12% stake, posted turnover of €1.3 billion (an increase of 25%), and a net profit of €249 million, compared with €122 million a year earlier. Buoyed by traffic of 96 million passengers, slightly above its pre-Covid level, TAV Airports is also benefiting from positive results in its duty free, catering and lounge services activities. With between 100 and 110 million passengers expected in 2024, TAV Airports has upgraded its growth forecasts for the period 2022-2025. Following the success of its first bond issue ($400 million raised over the last quarter of 2023), the Turkish group is embarking on a major investment plan to increase capacity at several of its airports, notably including Medina and Antalya.

The 2024 edition of the Engagement Jeunes [Youth Commitment] Label has just published the list of the 36 companies awarded the "Employer of Choice" label. Groupe ADP has once again earned the title following a survey of the company's work-study students and interns. When asked about their working conditions, 91.5% of respondents said they were satisfied and 89.8% expressed pride in being part of the Group. This recognition is testament to the commitment of the tutors and, more broadly, of the Group, which does everything it can to welcome, train and support young people and make their integration into the world of work a success.

RYANAIR ANNOUNCES FARE INCREASE

Ryanair has reported that recent incidents involving Boeing aircraft are causing production delays at the manufacturer, which are having an impact on deliveries to airlines. Consequently, the low-cost carrier is planning to increase its fares by up to 10% between now and the summer. Ryanair has also stated that it is seeking financial compensation from Boeing for the flight cancellations caused by its quality issues and production delays.

ELIXIR AIRCRAFT SUCCESSFULLY RAISES CAPITAL

French light aircraft manufacturer Elixir Aircraft has raised €13 million from investors to ramp up production of its new two-seater range. This is a further step forward, following the €13 million it received in public subsidies in June 2023 as part of the France 2030 plan. The aircraft manufacturer has estimated that it needs €40 million to industrialise its new range.

AIR CORSICA AND AIR FRANCE OBTAIN THE AIR DSP WITH CORSICA

The Corsican Assembly has awarded the air public service delegation (DSP) between the four Corsican airports and Paris to the associated airlines Air Corsica and Air France until 2027, to the detriment of Spanish low-cost airline Volotea. The latter was a candidate for the operation of the routes between Paris-Orly and Ajaccio and Bastia. Every year, 1.16 million passengers fly between Corsica and Paris.
