The Groupe ADP 2023 Foundation Awards Ceremony, held at the Aéro-Club de France on 15 June, was an emotional and convivial event, attended by Laure Kermen, General Representative of the Groupe ADP Foundation, and representatives from the Board of Directors and the Selection Committee. This 7th edition was a great success, with 858 Groupe ADP and Hub One employees voting for the solidarity initiatives that mean the most to them. The Foundation prizes were awarded to Léo Janin (DGD) for the association Protection Civile Paris Seine, Edin Topalovic (CDG9) for Tous Hansemble, and Houria Benhadj (Hub One) for APE Mondétour. The Board of Directors' Coup de Cœur award went to Yamraj Comics, championed by Alexandre Lavaur (COME). They all received financial support to enable them to continue their charitable work.

A NEW PANGÉA FRESCO PAINTING IS UNVEILED

This month, the latest painting in the "Un autre aéroport se dessine” [Another airport is taking shape] fresco at Orly 4, which illustrates Paris-Orly's commitment to the environmental transition, was revealed. It showcases the improvements made in waste heat recovery. Energy recovered from the incineration of residual waste and used to heat the airport, whose supply facilities have been renovated, will reduce the airport’s carbon emissions by 6,000 tonnes a year. The newly coloured image also represents the installation of electric charging points for vehicles, both airside and landside. As a reminder, this artistic work by Pangéa is a "living" fresco that will be coloured in over time as projects to reduce carbon emissions, optimise activities and preserve biodiversity take shape, creating the face of a new, more sustainable and environmentally responsible airport.

“Together for a new take-off” was the theme of the 10th anniversary edition of the Paris Air Forum. Large groups, start-ups and all aeronautics industry players put ecological matters at the top of their agenda at this unmissable event, held at the Maison de la Mutualité in Paris, three days before the start of the Paris Air Show. Is there a limit to the growth of air transport? Are transport infrastructures ready for net zero emissions? What will French air transport look like in ten years' time? These were just some of the questions discussed at the event, of which Groupe ADP is a long-standing partner. More than one hundred speakers, including Augustin de Romanet, Chairman and CEO of Groupe ADP, and Edward Arkwright, Deputy CEO, took part in the event's forty or so debates.

For the first time, Groupe ADP has attended Viva Technology, the world’s leading conference for start-ups and tech leaders, held this year from 14 to 17 June at Porte de Versailles. The event was an opportunity for the Innovation Hub teams to present the company's open innovation approach alongside our partner start-ups such as Outsight (Lidar technology for monitoring passenger flows) and Les Flâneuses (a self-service anti-fatigue chair for passengers). An overview of the technological solutions that will make carbon-free aviation and improved passenger experiences a reality. Launched in 2017, the aim of the open innovation approach is to transform our airports and businesses by spreading a culture of innovation throughout the company, by conducting experiments with start-ups and by acquiring stakes in them and in investment funds.

THE TOP-SELLING TOURIST DESTINATIONS IN MAY

Of the top 10 best-selling destinations in the short/medium-haul segment, Spain tops the list, ahead of Greece and mainland France. Mauritius retains its leading position in the long-haul segment. There was a sharp fall in demand for the Dominican Republic due to a lack of flights, after Air France and Corsair discontinued their services on this route.
